Annotation is the work people picture least accurately before they try it. This is a miniature version of a real task: mark what the guideline asks for, nothing else.

Five kinds of work, one application
You apply once to join rather than to a particular kind of work. What you take on afterwards depends on the courses you pass and what is open.
Transcription
Turning recorded speech into accurate text, including accented speech, background noise and conversations with several speakers. House style matters more than typing speed.
Translation
Moving text between languages so it reads naturally rather than literally. Languages with little existing data are the ones most often short of people.
Annotation
Labelling images, text and audio so a model can learn from them. Bounding boxes, categories, sentiment and entity tagging, all against a specific guideline.
Collection
Recording speech or photographing scenes to a brief, usually on a phone and often outdoors. Paid per accepted submission.
Review
Checking work submitted by other contributors and returning what needs fixing with a reason. Reviewers are promoted from contributors on measured accuracy.
Specialist projects
Work needing a professional background, such as medicine, law, finance or software. These pay more and ask for evidence of the background.
